Holy Moley

Yeah, thats right. I said it... Holy friggin Moley. 5 FOLLOWERS!!! I am wicked excited right now, because in my mind that's half way to 10, and that seems like alot. :) I don't actually have much to post right now, I am mid process in making some cute gift tags for a birthday party I am attending in 2 weeks. I get to go to my boyfriend's cousin's birthday bash. I LOVE that families always seem to have similar birth dates, and turns out his younger cousins are all born in September.

Anywhoo, I am making some really cute gift tags that I will be posting for free use, and I hope ya'll will really like them. I love to personalize all my gifts with great tags and wrapping, and because the boy;s cousins are all really young I can be really playful with this set.

Carry on folks, and keep following... LETS SEE IF WE CAN GET TO 10!!!

Le Result

So guys here it is. Oh, I know I posted about this project months ago, but the camera is finally fixed!! I really loved the colors of this stitched flower, green and tan are not common flower colors so they stand out for being unique in contrast. I wore the headband to work last week and had two compliments from customers within the first hour of my shift.

As I have mentioned before I work at Stop and Shop so I get stuck wearing the mustard yellow shirt all the time. I am looking to find a purple fabric that matches our store colors, I plan on making another headband in purple-- which reps my store brand, but is also the complementary color to yellow.

Just in case your are thinking that purple just sweet talks yellow all day, let me define, complementary colors are colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel. Some
examples include purple and yellow, red and green, blue and orange. Mixing these colors in your everyday wardrobe adds vibrancy, balance, and excitement.

Loved this project! It cost nothing to make because I had the fabric, buttons, and headband laying around anyways. I would assume most of you have these items as well. And in stores I found similar headbands for 5 bucks... and thats at a discount store!!

Im linking this project up to The Shabby Nest's Frugal Friday Link Party & Simply Designing's Link Party &&
Lots of other great ideas over there (:

SIDE NOTE: I really love playing the the mirror effect on the Mac Photo Booth and this has to be my favorite picture yet!! I have pink hair on the underneath so I really love how it got captured in the photo... almost looks like a mermaids tail (:

Carry on...

Super Deals for the Invited :)

So, today I bring to you a super exciting new way to shop. There are many many many online shopping opportunities out there, some bring great deals, some offer free shipping, and some are invitation only.

Whats that you say? Invitation only shopping?! Thats right, and I'll say it again. Invitaion only shopping. Once invited you get access to great deals on designer clothes. My friend at work Ms. Amanda invited me to a couple groups and with each day I am offered new great deals on clothes, bags, sunglasses and shoes. There are three however I have narrowed down for you folks that are the best for my price range and style.

FIRST. We have ideeli.com This site offers 2 day sale boutiques. Sales range in price from 10$ to 400$ and they show some great designers. I love love LOVE American Aparel and they are a frequent boutique. I have also seen LAMB, Calvin Klein, Betsy Johnson, just to name a few. Head over, Im offering you an invite!! As a bonus incentive you can invite your friends too, and once they purchase their first item you get a $25 credit, invite 4 firends, that 100 smackeroos for doing nothing but shop savvy.

http://www.ideeli.com/invite/bcouture0353

SECOND. Is HauteLook. HauteLook comes in second ONLY becuase their invite incentive is only $10. Other than that they are just as fabulous as ideeli, offer the same price range and similar sale prices. I really love Haute, I find they have many many $25 and under deals, and if your like me, this is GOLD. Some past boutiques include Lucky Brand, C&C California, and every Saturday they feature their Blowout Sale. Saturdays are a thrifty girl's holy day when it comes to HauteLook, they feature cute cute items at 70% off and UP. I bought a graphic tee last week for 7$. SEVEN DOLLARS. Retail value: 49.98. NICEEE

http://www.hautelook.com/invite/BCouture333

THIRD. Rue La La! Rue is perhaps the most expensive of the three sites, but don't count them out, they have some hot steals too. Also, they give a $10 credit just for being invited! Today they have boutiques featuring LAMB, CosaBella, and tickets to Batting Practice at Fenway. I have noticed Rue does a lot of special deals on rare events. As a Massachusetts native I know my boyfriend would love these tickets as a gift... too bad I don't have $800 laying around.

So, check it out folks. There is a whole new world of shopping out there and I'm inviting You. I don't ever buy things at full price and websites that only offer sale items are the perfect way to go.

Carry on.

(Tomorrow I will have updates on the flower project!!!)

Jess & Mike to Marry

So, this is less about fashion more about marriage, but I figured I would share. My friend, Jess, is getting married!!!!.... in less than two months (yikes) This is a VERY last minute wedding she and another friend of mine, Mike, are having. Mike is in the Army, and currently stationed in Korea. He will be home just intime to help out with final preparations for the wedding, but other than that Jess is sorta on her own. That means her Maid of Honor (ME!!!) is helping out ALOT.

Anywhoo, the point that I'm driving at is I have to throw a bridal shower, and i wanted to share with you this journey. The party is going to be in the afternoon, in my back yard. The theme is the best part. The Bride and Groom originally were only asking for money as gifts because they are moving to Texas after the marriage, which is where Mike will be based. This has since been changed, but at the planning stage the money only idea really threw me for a loop. I decided to do a kitchen party, where guests would bring a favorite recipe and a tool to make the recipe. This is a great idea if your Bride isn't registered anywhere, because the guests know what is the best tool for their recipe.

I made the invitations & recipe cards yesterday and I'd LOVE some opinions

whoo am i

1. What is your least favorite thing to clean in your house?
I hate washing dishes, I'm really weird and I have this thing about touching other peoples food. It only got worse when I worked at chuck e cheeses and had to clean up nasty kids messes.

2. What color of shirts do you wear the most?
Hmm, I work almost every day and have to wear yellow for work.... So unfortunately that would be most common. But other than work uniform teal is most common I love the color and it shows in my closet

3. Do you have long hair or short hair?
Currently its midlength. I cut it all off 2 years ago and went with a pixy cut. It was cute and I loved the ease of short hair but I looked much too like my mom so I've been growing it out ever since

4. What time do you usually eat dinner?
Usually around 630 or later. Depends on my work and class schedule

5. What is your favorite dessert?
Apple fortunes from pub 99. Its an apple with brown sugar, wrapped in delicious pie crust, baked into an apples al a mode deliciousness... Mmmm so yummy!!

Hoo Are You

1. What is your favorite flavor?
Absolutely hands down BBQ!!! Specifically TGIFriday's Jack Daniels BBQ Sauce. Honestly, you could throw that stuff on a flip flop and I'd eat it.

2, What was or is your favorite subject in school?
Art. (Duh) I love to paint and Art seems like the only class that let me do it. I also painted sets for the drama club, but thats another story.

3. What are some of your hobbies?
Other than crafting....I love to sing and play piano. I had always wanted to take piano lessons, and wasnt able to (for financial reasons) until I was 14. I took lessons for two years and have self taught ever since. I currently am mastering Speachless by the Queen Lady Gaga.

4. Do you prefer fruits or vegetables?
Veggies all the way. I have a serious issue with textures when it comes to food. I am VERY VERY picky, and seems like most fruit has weird textures. Bananas are too mushy, I dont like anything with seeds I might accidentally eat. Of all fruit I eat only apples, manderine oranges (from a can only) and watermellon. For veggies I love potatoes, carrots, corn, beans, and more

5. What color of eyes do you have?
Blue green grey. Depends on the lighting and the time of day.

Challenge Started

So folks, the crafting has begun, and so far I have made ten different flowers. I decided to begin I would use a old silk skirt I got at the beach two summers ago. I cut along all the hemmed edges instead of the frayed look from Maze. I really like how they are coming out and I think its time to step my game up and find some different more brilliant fabrics.

i only have two pics to show because its late and my flash on my camera is being screwy, but I wanted to get up a taste of the finished project.

I really love how easy this project was. If you haven't already checked out the project go back and click on the link! Twas super easy, I spent maybe 10 minutes on each flower. I have to go dig out the glue gun so I can accessorize some headbands. I love wearing floral accessories to work in the floral department. I feel it gives me more credit that I work and wear flowers :)

carry on!
(That was my Tim Gunn impression BTW)
